Logging time accurately in Teamwork is essential for tracking project progress and ensuring that all billable hours are accounted for. This step-by-step guide will walk you through the process of logging your time in Teamwork, with a special note on marking the time as billable.

Step 1: Log into Teamwork

  1. Open your web browser and navigate to the Teamwork login page.
  2. Enter your login credentials (email and password) and click on Login.

Step 2: Navigate to the Project

  1. Once logged in, locate the project for which you want to log time. You can find your projects on the left-hand sidebar under the Projects tab.
  2. Click on the project name to open it.

Step 3: Open the Time Tracking Section

  1. Within the project, find and click on the Time tab, usually located on the top menu bar. This will open the time tracking section.
  2. If you don’t see the Time tab, click on the More option (usually represented by three dots) and select Time from the dropdown menu.

Step 4: Log Your Time

  1. In the time tracking section, click on the Log Time button, which might be at the top right or under the specific task you worked on.
  2. A new window or panel will appear, prompting you to enter the details of the time you are logging.

Step 5: Enter Time Details

  1. Task: Choose the task you worked on from the dropdown menu. If the task is not listed, you may need to create it or ensure it’s assigned to you.
  2. Date: Select the date you worked on this task.
  3. Time Spent: Enter the amount of time you spent working on this task. You can input time in hours and minutes.
  4. Description: Provide a brief description of the work you did during this time. This helps in tracking the specifics of your work.

Step 6: Mark as Billable

  1. Important: Before submitting your time, you must check the Mark as billable option if this time should be invoiced to the client.
    • The Mark as billable checkbox is usually located near the bottom of the time log entry form.
    • This option is crucial for ensuring that your time is considered billable, meaning it can be included in invoices to clients.

Step 7: Save Your Time Entry

  1. After entering all the required details and marking the time as billable, click the Save or Log Time button to submit your time entry.
  2. Your logged time will now appear in the project’s time tracking section and, if marked as billable, will be included in any relevant billing reports.

Step 8: Review Your Logged Time

  1. It’s always a good idea to review your logged time entries periodically. You can do this by returning to the Time tab in the project and checking the entries listed there.
  2. If you need to make any changes, simply click on the time entry to edit it.
